About Jeannette Miner

It is with sadness and deep sorrow that we report that Jeannette passed away on Wednesday night, 16 January 2019.

Jeannette Miner was born into the world of fashion. Her parents were designers, manufacturers and retailers and Jeannette spent many of her early years helping in those fields. She launched into her own activities as soon as her children were of an appropriate age.

It started with a tiny boutique near the Bastille (which, she was told, had the most attractive window display in the neighborhood). The clientele grew rapidly but with the transfer of her husband, a senior NATO official, from Paris to Brussels, an end was put to that enterprise.

But it was only a short lapse until Jeannette had created an extraordinary fashion salon in the most elite neighborhood of Brussels. It soon became known throughout the international community and Jeannette became a sort of local celebrity.

Other ventures followed for Jeannette with a large ladies clothing store in Compiegne, 70 kilometers from Paris, and then her greatest creation, the exclusively charming boutique on the fashionable Avenue Montaigne in Paris where for 23 years she served the French and international communities of Paris.

It was in 1985 that Jeannette first brought a small collection to the United States. Since then, she has acquired a vast and very faithful clientele in several cities in the United States. Her fan mail attests to the satisfaction of that clientele.

Notable also has been Jeannette’s social activities in the international community. She has been a member of several groups including The American Women’s Club of Paris, The American Women’s Club of Brussels, The International Wives Club of Paris, the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas and has served on the Board and held Officer positions on many of them. She has also presented fashion shows for all of these organizations and for many others in Europe and in the United States.
